Nice numbers. Those look like some newier Vette rims you've got there. Am I right?

The link above is a write up I did when I did mine. Nothing hard about it, if you use your thumb to remove the old residue with, your thumb will be a sore sore mofo for a few days.

when u take the moldings off, does the paint behind it pop out? i mean because since it was covered up with the moldings, the sun, rain, dirt etc, wouldnt be hittin it.. so im wondering if i take mines off would it leave a brighter red line? or like a newer red line?

Its possible with red. You can take one of the smaller pieces off and test it, you should get an idea pretty quick if its gonna be faded or mismatched. If it is mismatching, you can always readhere the molding and cover it back up.

damn.. i like the idea though. never thought of it. when i debadged my car you could see the brighter red on it if you look at it in an angle. but after i drove it for acouple of weeks and washing it waxing it, now i cant even see it..

when i debadged my emblems, i used floss, wd40, credit card, rubbing alcohol, and clean rags. it took me 15 mins to take all the emblems on my car out.. except for the redwhiteblue stripes. i only took out the z28, and the chevy logo... made it look cleaner and naked. haha

if youre interested with the steps...

    1. get your floss behind any part, side, of the emblem.
    2. spray it with wd40, make sure you wipe down all the runs..
    3. start pullin floss up and down until the whole emblem is off. it might chip depending on your flossing angle.
    4. when the emblems off, there will be residue thats left.. spray with wd40, wipe the runs, and start rubbing it off with your credit card. Dont worry, it will not scratch your paint!
    5. when residue is gone, do a final wipe with your clean rag..
    6. rubbing alcohol and rag will make any little dirty spot go out.
** do that to all the emblems that you want off and wash it afterwards.

i will show pics, but i never have time during the day to take pics. hopefully bossman wont need me this weekend!

***y2kpewter, you think this process will work on the side moldings?

Its worth a try, I have heard of people using fishing line instead of dental floss. I will say the moldings have a stronger adhesive than the emblems, so it will require more work, but I think its possible what you are describing.
