Should i say yes?
I have been eyeing this 00 SS for the past few weeks. The buyer first wanted 15.3k then he lowered to 15. Now he told me his bottom dollar price is 14.6k. The car is a 6spd with H/C/I and puts doqn 454hp. Its got 37k miles. Looks and sounds in mint condition. Only problem is its got the stock rear end and clutch. If he gives it to me for 14.6k does it sound like a good deal or still to high? Should i wait till the spring and buy one (but the prices might go up again)? Im just a little confused, this car pretty much has everything im looking for and i cant seem to find anything like this close by.

Heads and cam do not increase value.
Sounds like the price is a little high to me.

Sounds like a great deal.....I'd jump on it if I was in the market and everything was good to go w/ the car.

How long has he been selling it for? Can you get cash or will you need to finance?
If you can make a cash offer to him it usually helps. I'm sure he's very proud of it since it is an 00 with low miles and some nice money into the motor, but like luos said, it shouldn't increase the value. But It is worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay. If it's freshly listed he might not budge too much.
I bought my 01 t/a with 69K 2 1/2 years ago for 10.5 cash.

check www.nada.com or www.kellybluebook.com
Figure in the mods already done. That would be money you would spend if you wanted extra hp

KBB.com says....
Excellent

Also, stock clutch with that power??? It is either dead, or on its way out.

I'm also surprised that the stock clutch even put that much power through it in the first place. When I modded my SS Camaro I replaced the clutch at the same time I dropped the modded LS6 in it, because I didn't even think they could handle that much power.
Either way, you're looking at dropping a rear end in that car very soon, and that's going to set you back at least a few grand. Has he set up the suspension yet? How about SFC? Has he done all the necessary stuff to launch that car, or are you looking at a potential wheel hopping nightmare? Suspension parts aren't cheap.

440 RWHP / 410 TQ- 2000 SLP CAMARO SS
My stock clutch and rear end is still working fine and my rwhp is right around the same. If you are not going drag racing every week, and just want a bad ass street ride, you will be fine.

Yeah i think hes asking to much for it. If he had a few suspension parts, rear and a clutch i would get it. I will need to drop another 2.5k on the rear, another 1k on the clutch and a couple hundred more on basic suspension parts, not to mention 2 new cats to pass jersey emmissions. Thanks fellas, ill just keep on looking, hopefully ill find a good deal.

honestly if you're lookin at doing those things to the car i'd buy it cause it'll save you the money on it.... if you don't really want a h/c car and if you just want a camaro with a v8 i'd try to find a stock one. AND he couldn't have dogged it that hard if the car still has the stock rear and clutch imo... i mean it couldn't have been a track whore....
That being said.... i'd still be careful and don't over pay for it and ask him detailed questions about how the work was done. try and talk him down a bit on the rear end and clutch thing...
