    5.0 all the way, the hurst is crap imo,the 5.0 has a patent on theres, going to third, kinda goes automatic when you shift, the hurst, was easy to miss a gear.

    I thought in a previous post you meant that the shaft was adjustable, meaning the height.

    That's my issue, the short sticks are too short, and they are positioned too far to the right and too far towards the rear. I had to heat and bend mine.

    i have had a b&m and the stock hurst. didnt like any of them. just bought a mgw shifter and will never look back. awesome product.

    yes they are fully hight adjustable, plus you can get straight or bent sticks, and different threads

    I've had my aftermarket Hurst Billet shifter installed on mine since 2 summers ago and have never missed a gear. Sounds like a driver mod

    one last question. After installing the mgw shifter do i need to cut the factory rubber boot for the orange block to stick through. you know that on a mgw there is a block that offsets the shifter. right now the shifter stick is the only sticking through and the orange block is under the rubber boot. Does this make sence.

    I prefer to avoid cutting the rubber boot, otherwise it will transfer more tranny noise through the passenger compartment.

    Hopefully cutting is avoidable.....

    You don't need to cut anything just leave it as is with the boot over it.
