    service engine light

    hey guys, was out cruisin tonite and suddenly that damn light came on!i was wonderin if anyone had any suggestions to what it could be...im leanin towards it bein a rear main seal...a couple months ago i had a leak but then it just stopped..? the car has never been modded either. any help is greatly appreciated!

    Take the car to O'reilly's, etc and get the code scanned. Can't troubleshoot if you don't know what set the light.

    Not usually, most don't.. They will usually clear service codes too...

    You won't have a Service engine soon(SES) light for a rear main seal. The SES light or also what some people refer to as OBD II(on board diagnostics) monitors fuel, ignition and emissions. Your SES light is a result of an issue with one of those 3 areas.

    All this is in your owners manual by the way
