resetting oil change light in dash

im bout to do an oil change in my 02 z28 what sae oil thickness should i use and how do i turn off the change oil light.thank you

I don't know about the Z28 but in the GTO you turn the key to the on position (not start) and depress the brake pedal 3 times slowly in 5 seconds-ish. I use 5w-30 oil.

Turn the key to the on position and hold the trip reset button in for a few secs until the oil light flashes.

5W30, Pennzoil Platinum is best for our engines, and you can reset the change oil light either using your trip/reset button, or by turning key on/engine off and flooring the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.

The oil change procedure has been covered. I use 10W30 Valvoline full-synthetic.
