I think some guys have actually twisted them on the street. I changed mine out for a PST so I wouldn't have to share this experience.

Here's a comparison pic I took of the two side-by-side:

It is larger in diameter -- not sure about the wall thickness, but it certainly feels more substantial than the stock driveshaft. I think it was right around $400.00. Also, it upgrades you to 1350 style u-joints -- so if you are still running the stock 10 bolt, you will need an adapter u-joint in the rear.

I just saw it -- not being familiar with "the Tater method" of LS6 identification I passed on making a judgment call.

I was at Norwalk (a hookin track) and watched a couple 4th gens on stock rubber twist the stock aluminum driveshafts like taffy. They were carrying them around the grandstands like it was a trophy,,kinda funny. Guess you had to be there. I was kinda surprised the rearends didn't go first.
Then I see some of them running well into the 10's on the stock shaft,,,,go figure Autos are definately going to be easier on it.

It's a judgement call really. I've seen enough of them twist to know that I personally won't chance it.

I can understand how that would make you jittery I've run mine with the stock shaft, I just don't abuse the car for the first 60 feet I generally ride the clutch a bit and come out easy. Stick cars are hard on parts. If I ever decide to get serious with the car I'll finish building this 12 bolt laying here and have a driveshaft made for it while I'm at it. Just no ambition right now.
