Question about rev limiter and shift points
I have an a4 2001 Z28 Camaro B4C, and I keep reading on various posts that there is a rev limiter somewhere arround 6500 rpm and the shift points are somewhere arround 5500 maby not sure if those numbers are very accurate. But anyway I have seen my tach at the 7000 mark, and I always drive in drive or overdrive, and it seems to shift right arround 5800 from 1st to 2nd and from second to third arround 6200 and I have seen close to 7000 in third.
I was just wondering if the highway patrol that I bought it from would have had a diffrent tune then stock or if this is normal for an ls1car.
also
I have also been considering getting a tune somehow, mostly just to make the transmission shift a little harder, and with the preditor does it make your car always shift hard ot does it tune so that it is a little smother under normal driving and then when you go WOT or close make it shift hard and fast.
thanks for any info.Last edited by MikeMoss; 04-12-2007 at 01:04 PM.

Are you sure that you are the next owner after the highway patrol? Because it could have been modded. Revs seem kinda high. But I think that the Highway patrol removes the top speed limiter for obvious reasons and move the rev limiter to 6800-7000. I could be wrong though.
However, this is definitely not in the options list for b4c. Check it out:

hey, its probably a good thing anyway!!
I only know this stuff because I was very close to getting a B4c myself but I got a real good deal on the SS. Enjoy her, B4Cs are pretty rare. I think they only make like 500-700 each year or so.
BTW, Welcome to the forums!!
