Question: 00 ss camaro (Top dash cover)

I have a small crack on my top plastic dash cover. It is about an inch long around the vent area. I wanted to take it out and repair it. I have tried to get entire top dash cover out, but it seem that I need to take out the lower dash cluster out before the top plastic dash cover will release on the sides. Has anyone out there tackled this problem?

you have to take of the pillars by the doors the screws are at the top and you have to take the t tops off..when you get the pillar off it will realease the dash. and be careful not to pull out the two wires(alarm light, light sensor)
