Cool. I've done a few. This is one of the last swaps I did a few years ago. A built 96 LT1/4L60E combo with 4.10 gears. A sleeper for sure, spanked alot of other unsuspecting camaros and mustangs with it.

I'm now gearing up for a retro swap in this blazer. I have all the mounts and transfer case adapters sitting here. I'm still looking for a suitable LQ4 or LQ9 with low miles. Seems everything I'm finding is well over 50,000 miles.
If I don't find something suitable I'll just wait until my wife totals that SS camaro in the backround and settle for a little LS1

i dont have full coverage insurance on the camaro just the GXP so if someone hits it than im SOL. and the chances of someone hiting you in the winter probably triple.

This day and age probably not. Better off stripping the drivetrain for yourself and using it in a retro swap

When my wifes 97 Z28 convertable was rearended and totalled 3 years ago, I was going to strip it down for the drivetrain, but when the insurance company offered me $7900 for the car (and it had 110,000 miles on it)
I said,,,,take it. At that time in 07/08 (and even now) I knew I could buy an LS1 4th gen with less miles on it. And I did just that

Besides, my wifes needed another driver ASAP and we were planning a move accross country too, neither of us had time to wait for me to do a retro swap in something let alone strip a car and move all the parts 2,000 miles.

That's the truth. We got a few inches of snow up here in the high country the other day. A rare site, and obviously the people around here have no experience in it.
I've already said the drivers around here suck when it's sunny. Well they are 3 times as bad when there is snow on the ground. Running errands today and I saw people trying to turn corners too fast and running into ditches on the opposite side of the road, nose first, getting stuck, rearending cars at intersections.
It was a complete and total mess out there. After whitnessing 4-5 cars running off the roads due to total lack of ability or complete stupidness, I couldn't wait to get my blazer back home. I thought for sure someone would hit me before I could get back to safety
