SOM- 2002 SS
Put on my winter tires and raised the ss......
LOL the car rides pretty good!! i no longer have to be scared of smashing my hres on bad bumps, i no longer have to worry about scraping my front skirt everywhere, i no longer have to wince thinking im about to feel the bumpstops through my butt and into my head... LOL
SS could stand for Snow Shark! this thing is an absolute beast with winter tires on. Yesterday i hit 100 mph on the freeway sliding left and right at will, its just so fun and easily controllable !!
i cant wait for winter to be over.... i hate it. the 600 hp 8000 rpm c4 vette will be getting finished i cant wait to park 2 sexy 4th gens side by side in the spring
till then...

No way our car goes out to play in the snow. Even with the proper footwear.

No i wouldnt, i refused to drive my T/A in snow/salt/ice aswell. I totally agree that these cars should be kept inside during winter all I was saying is they can be set up to drive well in snow. Better than alot of DDs that people have already. But i wouldnt drive my f-body in the snow, thats what the new yorker was for.

That's what we have this for.....
Although the camaro in the backround is my wifes daily driver, and it comes out rain or shine, (when it rains here,,lol) if the weather ever gets bad and we dare to venture out,,,it's 4x4 all the way. Especially if we head up to Flagstaff where the snow really falls. Besides, you can't take the camaro trail riding in the mountains either

Sure you can... Once..
To the op.. First and last time I ever took her out for a quick wintery cruise I ended up having to pull my whole top end apart to find a random misfire. Only good that came from it was I discovered a slow coolant leak in my manifold gaskets and I got to clean and paint the intakes..

One of the conditions I had when buying this car was that it had to be my dd year round. I'm not saying a camaro should be driven in the snow but that it's one he'll of a snow beater. With winter tires on and the coilovers raised up it does look like a pos v6 with 16s but it handles and drives through snow like a champ. I think it still sits lower than stranos or other so called lowering springs lol.. I'll get a dirty pic up soon!
Heres a before winter mode pic I like

Ya you're right that was pretty mean towards the v6 guys. Sorry v6 guys I let that one slip.
The maro is a heavy car with decent weight balance and a posi. Add skinny snows and it's no wonder it drives so well in the snow. I think a lot of people think 4x4 means it will own snow. Without winter tires I see my share of SUVs and trucks in the barriers and ditches every year. With a high center of gravity etc I'd guess it doesn't help matters when trying to go fast on slippery roads. With winter tires especially on a beast like posted above that would be pretty badass I must say.

Some people are less fortunate to be able to afford a winter beater so my advise to you is take care of her.
