Post your mods and Gas Mileage!!!!!!

I have a '98 v6 and am looking for a ls1 car. But it is going to be my daily driver so I was wondering how much extra gas I will be going through. I have already made up my mind that I am going to get a v8 but I was just wondering.

My v6 gets about 20mpg city and I can get 30mpg highway.

You shouldn't lose out on too much.

My modded M6 2002 SS gets around 14 - 17 in the city (depending on how heavy I am on the loud pedal) and 23 - 26 on the highway. The double overdrive gear (6th) gear in the T-56 transmission is a nice cruising gear. At 80 mph, the motor spins at roughly 1,800 RPM in 6th gear (with the stock 3.42 rear).

Highway. Set the cruise control in 6th gear and let it go.

it all depends on what kind of city driving. In my super heavy traffic of a large city i get about 13. But on the highway i get about 28. My personal best was 30mpg - and that was at 90mph!!

When you first hear the rumble of the ls1 fire up, you will forget the words gas and mileage as a statement. get the ls1 and dont ever look back. i drove 250 miles from kansas to missouri when i got the z and upon arrival at home i had a hair less than half a tank. damn. my 02 zr2 got about 18 on the highway. so in conclusion, the ls1 is.....no word can do it justice.
