GMMG is stainless. Y-pipe without cats flows more, but is illegal (at least in California).

think she'll pass inspection with no cats? I doubt it but it would be nice to have some pos Y with cats for when i have to get her inspected. Maybe I'll make one or a shop could for cheaper then buying a Y with cats and a Y without. Do you have one without cats? Is it like EXTREMLY loud or just loud when you get on it. Like on a scale from 0-20 what would you rate it normal driving? 20 being the loudest...What would you rate it at wot? on a scale from 0-20? Like is it obnoxiously loud when driving that you cant have a conversation .. fill me in on the details : )

    Currently own 1995 Z28 (Silver-Automatic) - BONE STOCK!!!
    Recently purchased 2001 Z28 (Black-6 Speed) - 3" Flowmasters and
other misc stuff. This, bad traction (2.21 60') and missed 3-4 shift
netted me 13.46 sec in the 1/4 mile. . .

My Y-pipe has no cats. It will not pass smog. I can always put the stock cats back on. While at cruising speeds, its not very loud at all (10/20). At WOT I'd say its pretty damn loud (20/20).

Yes, the Hooker headers are long tubes. They sound f*n bad ass with no cats and the GMMG. I wish I had a video camera, to get you guys a damn video of the exhaust. Sorry guys.

you know what i really don't know how it is set up yet, the cats have been gutted for emissions, so i'm guessing he just had them deleted. the guy who had the car just paid be people to do all the work to make it fast, and didn't really know all what was done. (he knew but didn't know what it meant.) but had the receips. he had over 13 k in receipes. and i got it for 15,500 with 42k miles. sweet deal but i got it in aug. and have not really got into to it. i drove it for like 2 months then stored it. so this summer or spring i will really get to know it well. it is fast and runns well at the track i just want to try the juice to see what it can really do. thanks jeremy

crazy3rdgen, I didnt say I will put the cats in the stock position. I just said I can put them back on. I can have them weld the cats to the stock y-pipe. Not going to be in the stock location though. MIGHT NOT WORK!

My exhaust system from front to back consists of Grotyohann Full Length (Long Tube) Headers, Random Technology high flow cats, stainless 3inch flowmaster american series catback style exhaust with a custom made stainless design in York, PA ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CUSTO...QQcmdZViewItem ) there is a link to a ebay auction he has for a similar tip. Everything is hand fabricated and too me its flawless. For me I got a 3inch tip made. I was just amazed when I unpacked it. I almost sound like I work for him!

Here is a front shot of my car. and a link to my car domain.

Thanks for the positive comments guys, I just wish I could drive it year round like most of you guys who dont get snow. Mine hibernates in the garage from Oct-May. On the plus side it's got low K! 65,000km or about 38,000 miles since its an american forum.
