pop starts wont start with key.

It's me again. I have a 98 m6 camaro Z28. It quit on me Saturday and the only way I could start it was to roll it downhill, key in the run position and dump the clutch in 2nd gear. I had to resort to this 3 times that day. I looked into the VATS today and from what I can understand I should only have a problem if the car does nothing with the key in and you attempt to start it. Mine will crank over fine it just acts as if it has no spark. Am I overlooking a module or a relay somewhere? I checked all the fuses and found nothing. All power accessories work fine. It just wont start.

Check your pass lock sensor. Is your security light on?

yea, check if the security light is on. it could be something as simple as a loose wire (which is what i had). damn security features in the damn keys and ignition...

I get that but if that was the problem how come I can get it to start? That would mean a thief can jam a screwdriver in your ignition and roll it down a hill pop the clutch and he's gone with your car. That makes no sense to me. The security light is flashing but it does that when you lock the car. Is there a different speed to the flashing I don't know about? IM CLOSE TO BUYING A CAR"B INTAKE AND PUTTING THIS MOTOR AND TRANS IN MY 79 MALIBU after i put full coverage on it and drive into a lake.

clean your key, the contact on it might be gunked up.
