Red with Silver Stripes- 2002 Camaro SS LE
Picked up my 2002 LE
OK, so after one of the longest weeks ever...my 2002 Camaro LE M6 (LE #2823) is finally home. I absolutely love this car. Has nice power, is fun to drive, and it catches attention. It has a couple minor issues, but thats OK...all fixable.
Here are the problems: Has a couple scratches near the front (not a big deal), Tires were REALLY bad (already replaced with Goodyear F1 All Seasons), The original SLP 345HP exhaust (not CME) was cut off just before the rear end so the car has no muffler...but a Flowmaster came with the car so thats OK, It is also missing 1 rim center cap (but those look to be easy to replace). So, it needs a little TLC...but I have dreamed out one of these since I was 16 so I am thrilled!!!
Also, this car has a lid labeled "SLP Blackwing." Is this the good SLP lid I want or is there another?
Here are some pics:

I remember this car- almost bought it. I'm glad you picked it up. I couldn't do it because of the costs associated with bringing an out of state car into California. If you don't mind I'd like to keep track of it/you. (that came off kinda creepy... if you ever decide to sell it, post it on the forum. -thats what I meant.)
Anyhoo, have fun! friend request on the way.

oh btw... that car didn't have muffler from the factory. it only had a resonator if it had the slp exhaust option. if you want it to be like original buy the lm1 or lm2 exhaust system for it. you are going to have less hp with the flowmaster too.

nice looking car. The engine bay is more cleaner then the carpet lol. I also like that grill style then others offered on the LE's. Where the stipes are painted all the way through.

I got the muffler put on the other day. The guy had the exhaust cut off just before the rear end and it was way to loud in the cab. If it had been dumped behind the axle...it probably wouldn't have been fine. But, the way it was, it was too loud for a daily driver.
With the Flowmaster hooked up, I do feel a loss of a little power, but thats OK. I can always make it up elsewhere.
Anyway, I like how it looks with dual exhaust a lot better too. Here's a pic I took yesterday:

I'm digging those tips! I haven't heard good things about Flowmaster since my '74 Monte Carlo. The power loss, would you say it's at the higher, or lower RPM's?
-My Z is hurtin at anything above 4000. I can feel her trying to give more, but a stock setup won't let her

I would say it has lost some in the upper RPM ranges...but its not bad. I knew it would, I went from no muffler to a muffler...so, thats the way it goes. I have heard that Flowmasters tend to me more restrictive but it came with the car. My '69 Camaro has headers, true duals, X-pipe, and Magnaflows and I honestly didn't feel a power difference in the from open headers. So, based on the experience...I love Magnaflows. But, again...thats a full true dual performance exhaust.
Down the road, I'm thinking about GMMC for the 2002.
