i have aftermarket EBAY halo headlights...

someone mentioned in the other thread that my headlights take an "H3" bulb.... so do i have to specifically get the "H3" bulb or could a "H1" bulb fit? or how does that work? what determines what bulb gets put in the headlight housing?

and are the foglights on fbodies "H3" also?

Well, just wanted to update everyone. I got the 6000K kit from DDM. Paid about $80 to my door. Not bad for a lifetime warranty as well. Great quality. Very small ballasts. I'll take some pictures and get them posted in the next few days. Very, very happy overall. Highly recommended.

You have to get the bulb that fits your headlights. They are not interchangeable. The stocks fogs are #894 bulbs.

DDM carries a 880 bulb kit that covers the entire 800 series. They have a sale going right now on all kits. $49.99 plus shipping. I'm really thinking about adding the fogs just because of the price.

I have DDMs 6000K kit. They definitely have a blue tint to them. If you want a pure white, go with the 5000K.

thanks.. i have a few more questions..

*are they priced at $50 just because of the holidays?
*to install them do you literally just plug one end into the stock harness, other end into the bulb and then find a spot for the ballast, no splicing needs whatsoever?
*and this is only for the low beams? if i wanted them for the high beams i'd have to buy another ballast etc...?
*why do i see more than just a simple cord to plug into the stock harness and then into the bulb? it looks like theres 2 other wires that go somewhere?

Those are the ones I run in the Yukon and Camaro. Totally plug and play.

Yeah, these kits are plug and play. Camaro/Firebrid actually don't use one of the connectors in the kit, so you just cut it off. If you want the hi/low combo, you have to get two separate kits. Personally, since I've gotten the hid's, I've had no reason to turn the brights on. Hell, the brights are actually darker than the lows.

when i changed out my headlight assembly all i saw was the plug and the bulb going into the socket... lol

Did you end up changing the fogs to HID? Wondering if they held up...DDM website says they don't reccomend them for small fog light housings.

I haven't put them in yet. They're sitting right in front of me. It's about a million degrees outside, so I may end up waiting until Winter. I'll post up and let you know if/when I decide to do them.

fogs held up on mine.. they are from ddmtuning.com too.. I SUGGEST THEM..

    i have : 55watt 5000k for headlights
35watt 5000k for fogs.. and let me tell you this, i wouldn't go back.. its like driving blind with regular bulbs on.. w/ hids you see everything and the it makes the car look wayy better at night.

Would like to install hid lights. But does anyone know if it puts a strain on the cars electrical system? Would you need a bigger alternator?

Nothing extra needed. The HID only draw 35 watts, or, 55 watts with the kit vonskee got. The Silverstar Ultras and most other bulbs draw 55 watts, so the 35 watt HID kit would be less stressful on your system.
