    Parts availability opinions...

So I know we're all sick of GM's bankruptcy...

But I'm curious if GM goes down, or drastically alters their lineups, what do you think the long term parts availability for our cars will be?

I know it's been pretty good even after the last '02 rolled out, but that was still the same old GM dealers and parts depts...

Personally I'm happy to keep my '99 til it simply can't be fixed anymore. Is anyone worried about parts availability?

(If I picked a bad place for this post, mods, feel free to move)

Honestly, parts are more readily available for the 69 Chevelle's that I had today then they were in the 90's. All catalog orders from Chevelle Classics back then for interior or body.

So, I would think that our cars wouldn't be much different. That's whats nice about a Chevy small block

Or, at least I would hope so.

Ya it just takes a while for the aftermarket to catch up though.
There is usually a dry spell from when the OEM manufacture quits making the parts and the aftermarket takes up the slack. It's that time period when people like me go on the hunt at swap meets for NOS parts and things start getting expensive in a hurry. Don't ask me how I know.

As of right now,,,GM has already discontinued many parts for the 4th gens. Even long before this bankruptcy crap started. I started noticing it about 5 years or so after the last 02 rolled out.
