call around to your local body shops and see what the average price is. Also try and find some local car clubs to get some feedback on who they use. Keep in mind you usualy get what you pay for...

Cheap + Body Work = Getting done again..
If you can't afford to do it right.. You really can't afford to do it twice.
Maaco = BAD.. Ask me how I know (No, they didn't paint my car..

ive got this little bubbles on my roof, my local body shop kind of chuckled when i said something about getting it fixed.
they said something about it being a bitch with the way the sail panels are attached, its behind the rear fenders so they have to come off too. I think they told me the easiest thing to do is to buy a new roof and have it painted.
For hood though they told me about $250, which was pretty much the standard for getting a single panel painted

My t-bar roof panel looks like the worst case of acne you've ever seen. I think it's something in the primer GM used. Well not with mine, i'm just an idiot who sanded through the gel coat. Honestly the best thing to do is sand it back down to the fiberglass and gel coat it or bull dog it... bull dog is just this shit that will seal the fiber glass up and also works as a great surface to paint on. i'm gonna go the "bull dog" route when i get time to go up and do it.
I highly doubt buying a new roof is going to fix the problem, but i'm no paint guru so who knows. my first guess would be in the painting and prepping technique cause GM basically doesn't know how to paint cars.

the glue they used to install the roof panels releases gas that causes the bubbles.

i have the same problem with mine bubbling. and i am now in the process of painting it. at first i just sanded all the clear and paint until i got down the primer. it has been sitting like this for a bout a week now. i notice that some of the gases are still seeping out, but the more i let it sit in under the texas sun, the more i see it going away. i was told by my painter that the reason it is doing that is because it didnt have time to bake and cure like it is supposed to when they painted it from the factory.
so we sanded mine down and i let it sit in the sun during the day and it seems to be working. i plan on having it ready to prime by the middle of next week. if all the gases have stopped coming through. i will let you guys know how it turns out.

OFFICIALLY.. it is caused by the outgassing of improperly placed adhesive on the roof...

Don't waste your time sanding it I have had it done twice. The body shop gave me my money back and told me that replacing the panel wasn't something they wanted to do. Found part for 600 new. Used were 350. I have the new one at the body shop now. I have it scedualed for first of november WISH ME LUCK.

well i sanded mine down all the way through the clear and paint and primer. till i got down to the fiberglass. it has been sitting that way for about 1 1/2 weeks. all the gases have stopped coming through. when i sanded down that far in the beginning you could actuallly see the it coming through. and now it has stopped. im just doing it to see if it will work. i own a body shop so i have the time to let it sit as it is and sand on it when needed.

i'm not extremely knowledgeable about the paint work so i could very well be wrong, but when i sanded through the gelcoat when i got my car painted the only places that have bubbled up after i got it painted were the places that i actually went through the gelcoat, and i never let it sit out for the gases to bake out, it was painted the day after i sanded it.
SO, i'm repainting that t-bar again either xmaxs break or summer (and maybe just doing the whole car, which would involve adding some red and silver pearl!)
my question is will gelcoating the whole bar again fix the problem given the info above or will it just bubble up again eventually?
