Oil Pressure
Ok...question for the gurus. I know Im prob in the wrong section but I tried getting an answer in the GM Trucks field and didnt get a reply. I have an 02 black Z28 that I like when buzzing up and down the roads. My question however is about a new 06 Avalanche I just bought with the 5.3 engine in it. Does anyone out there know about what the oil pressure should run when the engine is fully warmed up at idle? It makes about 40psig idling and 45 running. I compared it to my LS1 which makes about 45-50 psig idling and 60 running. Does the Avalanche oil pressure seem normal? Any help from someone who knows is appreciated. Thanks

My neighbor has a Z71 with the 5.3. His oil press is under 40 at idle and 45 running. I know from building hi perf marine engines a good rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000 rpm. So im sure its all good
