its gm's name for the platform, montecarlo's/regals/cutlass' are G-bodys, nova's/ventura's are H-bodys, gran prix is part of the W-body family i believe... its how they code car platforms that are different but share ALOT of parts...

    Nova/Ventura's are H-bodies,,,,the Chevelles/GTO's/Oldsmobiles are A-bodies

Of course we are talking late 60's and early 70's here,,,(when you mention nova's and ventura's) right???

Just thought I'd straighten that minor typo out Mr. Recovery

Back in the 80's the montecarlos and regals were G-bodys. But now they are in the W-body platform, along with the Grand Prix.

I beg to differ. While you are correct regarding the "A" body designation, the Nova and it's clones are X-bodies while Vega's and Monza's are H-bodies.

1st thru 4th gen (1967-2002) Camaro's and Firebird's are F-body cars. The upcoming 5th gen Camaro is no longer considered an F-body.

Yes sir you are correct,,,I should have caught that, since I've had 5-6 monzas and vegas. Guess it's my subconscience telling me I miss those cars
