You still have the backup lights, but I don't see the advantage of making those red anyway unless you could actually get them to work with the rest of the taillight signals.
I personally don't like the look of the 96 on down tails. To each their own.

Ya some don't. I think they look a bit cleaner, but not to the point where I'm going to look for a set and do the swap.
I never was a big fan of big yellow turn signals on the back of any car. But I put up with it for lack of interest to do anything about it

I just threw the option up there, because it's seems to me to be alot easier than going through the trouble of spray painting a lens, that might give you issues down the road.

Like I said, the whole thing red looks good, but if you can't make the back up light section work with the rest of the light then I don't see the point. You probably could with some wiring trickery.
Which is why the 92-95 lights serve the purpose if you like that sort of thing.

Probably worth while if doing alot of racing. We have never found the need for sub frame connectors in any of our 4th gens. If I had plans to race the car alot I'd do it for sure. For a driver I really don't care.

And these comments are what makes me want to do it for sure! My next mod is a rear, but will NOT race the car until I get the SFCs and torque arm (and relocation crossmember in).

Some people have had luck without 'em... others (such as myself) have twisted their cars like a pretzel. My last one did

Lucky you. About the only thing I worry about twisting is the driveshaft or the rearend. I don't make enough power in either 4th gen to twist the car so I don't worry about it Then again I don't race them all the time either.

i got a shop to weld em in, not sure how much yet (english pounds anyway!) but i think they took about an hour to fit.
Car feels much flatter through the bends and ive still got the el stocko suspension.

3pt. are best if you are gonna be drag racing, but i went with 2pt. cuz i don't go to the track at all.

    Weld, will be stiffer.

I hardly did either (except for the "closed sanction roads" of street racing). My buddy (the one that has my car), had a Y2K A4 Z28, with a .566/.568 Comp Cam in it with a 125 shot, 12 bolt, and slicks. He frequented the track ALOT. On 2 occassions, he was able to get some daylight between the track and his driver's side front tire, sprayin' it off the line. The guy that bought the car, put SFCs on and didn't have a single problem on the install. Talk about luck
