new V6 camaro > mustang GT

well the new V6 camaro is getting the 3.6 caddy engine with 300 HP..i find that very funny guess it's chevy's way of kicking ford in the nuts once again

only 7,500 V8's are going to make production?=( well atleast they get an LS3!
just thought i would throw some info about the new camaro.
sorry if this is old news to you guys..i just died laughing at the v6 and had to tell everyone i know.

even if theyre listed at 35k from the dealer, i can almost guarantee most of those cars will be bought and resold immediately for a GINORMOUS profit.

it was on some article I found searching around for info ...gm said that.s all they can spare to make. same wit the new challenger there will only be st 8's for the first production year and if I remember right it will only be somewhere around 8000 don't quote me on that one though..all this fuel economy is putting a stop to performance cars

well i hear even tho the ls3 makes 450 that it pulls sooooooooooo much harder from mid to top then the ls2.

well the v6 is suppose t sell for around 25k so I have no clue what the v8 will sell for...doubt it will be 60k and if anyof this turns out to be false I do apologize

yea..the thing with the maro is the same with the zr1..up to the week of its debut there were rumors *straight from GM* about all this shit...so i will wait for its release until i say anything..and from someone who actually got to see one (detriot international auto show) the maro looks 110x better in person.

so if they're doin this for fuel economy reasons i wonder what want kind of average mileage will the v6's have compaired to the v8's . . i mean hell our ls1's don't have the much lower of a gas mileage than the 3.8, at least average wise.

i think if i had a 300 hp v6 camaro with some mods i think that would be some good competition for stock gt's haha. i think i would have big v6 ricer stickers or emblems all over it so everyone could see im two pistons short of a full (deck) block.

I wouldn't think 7,500 units would stack up on a financial basis - Given that the new Camaro is also going to sold here in Australia and lots of other markets, one would think that thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) would need to be produced to make it worthwhile.

From my understanding the Camaro is usually pitched a little lower in the US, so wouldn't the price have to be $35-45K US (probably $60-75K Aus). Anyone have any thoughts on this..??

if they make a 300hp v6 with a m6 behind it i think i might get into v6's. i mean come on. a 300hp v6 would be a fun car to modify. put a big v6 sticker on the back and make everyone think you are slow

they wanted to make it compete with the new "tiburon" that will be RWD and also have 300 HP..that and they and they seem to enjoy making there v6 model be asstrong as the mustangs gt
i have no clue how many V6's will be made i just know the v8
they have to make to many trucks to focus only on the v8 camaro's
..i personaly think there also a little afraid that the new camaro will have the same fate as the 02..no one buys them untill they go to the used car lot

Something tells me that the 300hp V6 is going to be real close to it's upper performance limit and it's not going to respond too well to simple mods.
It'll probably take big bucks to squeeze more power out of it.
