New Trans, New Rear... it's coming along
Since it seems as though that I'll be keeping the white car, I've been able to run across some steals of a deal. Moser 12 bolt, 4.30 gears, 33(or 35?) spline axles, came out of an M6 02 WS6, getting dropped off Monday for $600. I duno how or why its so low, but it's been sitting for more than a few months in a friend of a friend's garage, and he's been itching to get it the fk out of there. Also, a friend from a while back totalled his '99 Z, had a $2500 4L65E that he only put a few hundred miles on, and going to look at that tomorrow. Wanted $800, said he'd go down to $500. So I'm guessing that to be a killer deal as well. Friend of a friend is supposed to be bringing in a Zex kit that was over $500 new, and said he'd sell it for $150. Still need to take a peak at that. Looks like my motor swap will be put on hold for a couple months after this next week But I think I'm doing it all correctly, as I'll need the trans and the rear for what I'm trying to ultimately accomplish with a violently cammed LQ4 and nitrous setup. Things around here are going for cheap. Have seen a Moser 9" with 3.73s out of a '98 Z A4 car, guy is asking $1500 for it, duno about TCS. MWC rear also, for $1600.... hard to beleive these rears are going for this cheap these days... not including other parts

Sounds like a good group of friends you have. Be sure to post up some pics of the installs on whatever you end up getting.

???
Yeah, I'd like to get wrenching on it Friday, but we'll see how things go. I'm going to pick the trans up on tuesday. I think it would be best to take it to a trans shop to have them go through it, replace all the seals, fluid, etc. before I install it. Still waiting on a bigger stall as well. I sure as hell don't wanna do a R&R on this thing more than once

Those are some pretty good deals you got. Did you go through the rear end too? With what you spent on that trans, easy money to swing it by the trans shop.
