    1996 Z28

    new LS1 but need help!

    alright i have a 1996 z28 6speed Lt1 as of now i just bought an ls1 out of a 1998 camaro it was also a 6speed car but i only got the motor will this motor bolt straight up to my transmission if not what all am i going to need and what all will i need for the motor swap help needed fast!!!!

    While it can be done you'd be better off getting an LS1 car to start.

    Bellhousing is different. PCM is different (while LS1 PCM is different from LS1 PCM, 1998 is unique to that year) as well as most of the wiring (Opti vs coil-on-plug ignition). IIRC, the LS1 nose is different due to the LS1 engine being 4" taller than the LT1. I believe the engine cradle (bolt on sub frame) is different. It goes on from there....
