    New Engine Project

Finally in the finishing stages of my new LS1 Engine Project & it should be lifted up into the car today. (Still waiting on a tranny/rear end service).
Not sure if anyone remembers, but I had mentioned my old one took a dump at 93,151 & I was looking for an excuse to put together something
much better anyway. Well, here is the new Engine at about 75% put together. Just thought I would share some pics with you guys.

I will post some finished ones when the car is back up and running.

Sorry, guess I was pretty vague. Thanks for kind words also.
A couple friends asked me to post some pics here of the Brand New LS1 Engine I was having put together.
I have been 2 months without my Camaro & it's finally coming together so I got excited & posted a couple premature pics.
My original LS1 was all stock & took a dump at 93,151 miles.... pretty shitty.

Not much I can do besides grease someone's pockets.

Got the coil packs/wires/harness/fuel lines/oil catch/smog delete on today but won't lifting her up into the bay & plugging her in until Monday.
I will need to find a local dyno shop to shut off my ses codes for now, waiting until 500 miles for the dyno.

I heard there were counties in cali that didnt require smog. So basically you could get a po box in that county and register your car there. Do you think theres any truth to that?

Unfortunately I think when it comes to Cali, the law is the law, I have never heard differently...
but there are certain counties that have more "shady" smog shops...

I lived in Calif. for 43 years, and in Los Angeles county in particular. There was NO way to get around the smog laws there, as they went from mom and pop run smog shops to State run smog shops, where there was no more greasing someones pocket. I know because I had a 450HP Supra that I had to eventually sell just because there was no way I could ever get it even close to passing smog again. I used to be able to slip mom, or pop a "c-note" and ta-da she passed! Not after Uncle Sam took over. Then it was impossible. That's another reason I love Washington so much, no sniffer test, they just plug into the module, and as long as you're not tripping any codes..you pass! What a crack up, there's my car...spittin' and rumblin' at idle [with my cam] while I'm smirkin at the guy as he hands me the certificate, saying "Okay sir, you passed" In California, they'd practically have me in handcuffs!!!!!! lol I don't miss Calif at all....sorry for the wise crack, just remembering.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I'm an LA native. Passing smog was damn near impossible even with CARB parts. I love it here in Phoenix. I moved here in 2003. It's the same here as you say it is in Washington: Plug in, no codes, check the gas cap, here's your check, here's your certificate. They didn't even open the hood! Most counties don't even require a smog check. All the while the LT's and Magnaflow's with T/D's are rumbling merrily away.

With long tubes followed only by my Loud Mouth and just the resonator, that's a test I'd probably NOT pass! Ha-ha!
