So much info has been leaked out anyway and if you read between the lines of all the info that's out there from GM sources etc...

Basically there's gonna be 3 V8 models, base, SS and Z28. Z28 will likely be the top dog version with 500+ hp to take on the GT500. The SS will take on the Mustang GT but should have more power with less weight. V6 is a definite go. Turbo 4 cylinder is still up in the air.

    Deal!

Reason why I think there's definitely goin to be a 500+hp version is just read what GM insiders are saying on camaro5... they keep mentinonig that the GT500 is the benchmark they used for developing the Camaro. If that's true then that means they intend to beat it and that means 500+ hp's

I agree with the fact that gm is using the gt500 as a benchmark..I just think they will beat it with weight reduction and not pure horsepower.

Gotcha. I still stick to my guns that it'll be with power (and hopefully some weight reduction). Exciting part is either way it'll romp on the GT500

i hope u power seekers know the gm will not put the high hp modle out the first year, they want u to buy a crapy verson and then wait a year and traid in and get a better newer faster, just like they did with the gto, but i would rather have a ls7 then a s/c ls3, b/c then u can get a magna charger and have the same s/c as the ls3 on a ls7, but you wold need smaller pullyes to fead the spare room in the 7.0

Doesn't really work that way. I would take a forged LS3 factory Supercharged over an aftermarket supercharged LS7 any day, the LS3 would be a much stronger and more capable engine for a boost application.

The LS7 was never designed for boost, which is why it wasn't used for the new ZR1 Corvette. The cylinder walls are too thin, and can't be reenforced enough to reliably hold any serious boost pressures. The 6.2 LS3 is a much better option, which is why the LS9 is based off of that engine.

LS7 is an awesome motor, I'd take one in a heartbeat, but its not the best option if you're looking to go F/I.
