new camaro a go
It has been confirmed that a new Chevy Camaro will start production in early 2009 as a 2010 model. While many details are sketchy, the platform will be Zeta, and its looking like the Camaro will be built in Australia by Holden. Coupes will be first, and convertibles will start down the assembly line less than a year later. Two engines configurations keep popping up with the word "Camaro" the 240hp 3.9L LZ8 V-6, and the 300hp 5.3L LH6 V-8. At this point there is no word for an optional V-8 engines, but everyone knows that GM has the firepower to dust its rivals in the Ford, DC camps with 350- to-400hp V-8 options.

As if a canadien made camaro wasn't bad enough. I'm disgusted. Have people here in this country that need work and an american icon such as camaro gets outsourced to the aussies. If it's true then I've lost more respect for GM.

I sure as hell hope so, I just feel like waiting until 2010 to trade in my car. And can they please put something a little better than a 300HP motor in it? Doesn't the GTO have a 400HP motor in it already? Wouldn't they at least wanna match that?

Geez, listen to everyone drooling over aussie built muscle. You guys would buy it if Bejing built it. Actually surprised they aren't.

300 horsepower is pretty low. I mean the Ls1's had way more and that was a while back now. They gotta just put the LS2 in there!

It sure doesn't "feel" like it's going to happen - or if it does it won't really be a CAMARO.
