thats because they dont make a ls4 or 5...yet.and a ls4 will not have only 300hp.each number its goes up it has more performance.u might be thinking of a LR4 which is rated at about 285-290hp

The LS4 is a smaller 5.3 L (325 in) version of the Generation IV block. Though it has the same displacement as the Vortec 5300 LH6, it differs in that it has an aluminum block rather than an iron one and it uses the same cylinder head as the Generation III LS6 engine.

A version of this engine is adapted for transverse front-wheel drive application. In order to fit into the smaller engine compartments designed for V-6s, in the front-wheel drive Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, for instance, the LS4 engine block had to be shortened by one inch. Displacement on Demand is also used. Output of this version is 303 hp (226 kW) and 323 ftlbf (438 Nm).

While all the V-8 options are still up in the air, the V-6 is easy.

Look for the 300hp 3.6 DOHC in the base model. Direct injection FTW.

It would be pretty righteous. I drive an SS now but my first Camaro was a Z28 and might as well be my next one as well... That is IF I could ever peel myself away from The Beast I have now... not likely...
