i have a 2002 z28 that i want to put alot of work into. i bought the car used and the last owner had put a cut out on it and new tips, im not sure if the muffler is stock or not , i was told it was a flowmaster 80 series. and i have a k@n filter in it, that is all. im looking to put headers, cat- back exhaust, cam, and intake, i want it to sound mean ass hell and run mean as hell too. so any one with advise that can hepl me out would be appreciated. thanks

Congrats on the purchase, I love the color
I would pick up a lid, " LIds are just about the same so dont worry about brand" headers, off-road y and either keep the slowmaster or replace. Flowmasters sound good but they dont flow very well so thats your call. As far as lt's and ory i went with pacesetter but whatever floats your boat. I would stay away from slp do to the issues with ground clearence. Soemone else will have too chime in on the cam but you will need to post what numbers you are lookin for and if its a dd and so forth and so on.

Black on Black- 2001 Camaro SS
I agree with sunsetorangess, You will get the most bang for your buck out of a lid. Stay away from SLP headers and y-pipe as they have a major clearing issue. If you have money to play with I would reccommend Kooks or QTP headers as the are some of the nicest for F-bodys. The Flowmaster could actually be robbing you of some horsepower, but minimal.

Sounds like my buddies old car he just sold in NC. Yeah get you a nice exhaust, lid, and some decent headers and you'll have a good start.
2001 SOM SS Vert 1 of 37 verts with a 6 speed. Kook LT's with cats, fast 90mm ported intake, Nick Williams 90mm TB, AFR 205's and so on. Tuning/installs done by Williams Performance.
