Not that there isn't subtle differences, but most of these new cookie cutter cars coming out nowadays are all copies of other manufactures in some way shape or form. I gave up many years ago trying to tell what car is which and who makes it.
Generally got disinterested in most cars made after the 80's anyway, and by the time the 90's rolled around it got more difficult to seperate the brands.
Now it's just damn near impossible. About the only new car you recognize rolling down the street anymore is a vette, a challenger, or the new camaro,,,everything else looks like a cookie cutter to me.
People get on here all the time and say things like,,,I just raced a M3,,,or a G28, or a Skyline, or what have you. I have no clue what that crap is anymore and really have no interest in knowing. Names of these cars have went down the toilet,,,and the styling is even worse.

Okay that's my take on it,,,carry on
And most guys who are into newer cars are the opposite, they could care less about 90s muscle cars like the camaro so they cant tel lthe difference in one glance of a camaro vs a concord. I prefer to try and know as much as i can about all the cars i come across. There are alot of cookie cutter cars out there but i can tell you past the skin the legacy has alot of interesting equipment that a civic or camry will never have. Which is why people are suprised when I 0-60 in 4.8 seconds next someone who has no idea wtf my car is.

sadly I've also had people compliment me on my "sebring" This is was even with my hockey sticks and black rims, I don't even bother talking to or acknowledging them......even if they do happen to be an attractive, skankly dressed, lonely looking chick in a 7-11........

If she is that dumb I would let he believe anything she wanted and then make my move and say. "You are so smart! Not many people know much about these cars. And no hunny, I wont think ANY less of you afterwards. You and I will be together for ever."
