It will definately direct more air in there than without it it will also impede your cooling if you add that little box that covers some of the radiator., and thats your radiators main airflow source. I'd say replace it definately. Can probably find one in a junkyard cheap. I'd actually be interested to see if the box makes more hp than just opening the bottom of the airbox.

Yeah definitely get one ASAP.
As for the box making more power, yeah it makes more power...but more only if you properly seal it to create a true Ram (Forced) Air environment. I mean its not going to give you oodles of power but you will feel a slight difference. I think its worth it.

I think that the aluminum one would get F-ed up! Stick with the plastic!

That air dam drags on absolutely everything. The reason that Chevy made them out of heavy guage plastic was to allow them to take the punishment and not get ripped off the car every few days. The aluminum one sonuds nice, but it wouldn't last. And if it did survive you wouldn't think it was so pretty after a few drags on curbs and driveways. Save your money.

true and now im leaning toward the pltc but the alum is also a inch shotrter pronly due to the hitting of that. hope that 1" removed doesnt interfere with the performance that it helps with
