My new 2002 SS!
Well thanks again for all your help... I know I paid a little too much for her but in the end Im happy and a camaro like this does not come along too often around here (Hawaii)...
Here she is just after I picked her up. Just 17,900 on the ODO. and very, very well taken care of. absolutely no dings or scratches...

Nice.....very clean! AT or 6 speed? Is there a higher speed limit than 55 anywhere in Hawaii? I bet there are some killer roads with views us land locked people can only dream about.

Nothing higher than 55 around here... There is one stretch of road that has a 65 limit but its not long, and is on Oahu.
There is a newly paved road here on the Big Island called Saddle Road... I once cought these guys from the Speed Channel doing a test on a new Benz C63 AMG. Clocked them on my radar doing 117MPH!!!! and that was around a bend on the road.

So you are the police? I didn't think anywhere in Hawaii had anything over 65, so thanks for the update. So, what are some nice roads to drive on, all of them? Or just a few.
What is the L-78 in your '69 Camaro? 396? 350? I had a '67 400 4-speed 3.36 Firebird for 11 years. Forgive my ignorance of Chevy RPOs.

All roads are beautiful! you have a mountian view and ocean view everywhere you look... The best are the cruises around the island
The L-78 is a 396 -375 Hp... Solid lifter... Was the highest rated factory RPO... The L-89 had the same motor but with Alum heads... Of course theres the ZL1 and the COPOS.... Interesting story on the find....

Nice 396. Those cars are going for good money if they are in any shape at all. I find it interesting after my headers, intake, 4-barrel, functional Ram Air hood on my '67, when I went to the drag strip my best times were 13.20s @ 105.x. And, 10 MPG. These new cars are so much better.

Sweet car!
OK this is a stupid question, does it have an retracting antenna? Mine 1999 SS doesn't. When did they start putting those on?
