    mustang threat?

    i own a 99 ls1 with a comp cam 232 232 581 lift ,hooker longtube competition headers ceramic coated ,and cutout exhaust,and circle d stall 2800 the bad this its untuned..
    it runs strong just wastes alot of gas im guessing cause of the tune..im thinking knowing that my car is untuned..can i lose to bolt on camed stangs ??

    like the 2v wit pi swap .or the pi stangs or 3v..even the shelby

    If its burning a lot of gas then it is more then likely rich which can foul plugs and if bad enough, wash the cylinders. Rich isn't good for making power, you want the car leaner but not too lean or you risk blowing up the motor. Get that thing tuned asap! Even if you can't find a dyno tune (Which the car REALLY needs) have Frost do a mail order tune at the bare minimum. If you are going to be running with Stangs that are cam'ed and bolt ons, if they have a good tune......you will probably lose

    If you get it tuned, you should run with, if not, pull away from a Mach. Machs were rated at 305 hp and 320 ft/lbs/tq. Also, if you can hook the rears and not blow the diff, you should be good.

    As for the Shelbys, you MIGHT be able to hang with them. You are running naturally aspirated...the Shelbys are running superchargers. There are some members here who have ran with or left Shelbys behind and I am sure they will post here.

    I have beat a Mach 1 when my car was stock so you will definitely beat one unless your tuneless ness is basically pouring gas into your car

    Don't be stupid, get it tuned!! Especially if its your daily driver and u plan on racing against anything. You more than likely are putting down less power to the wheels than stock with longtubes and a cam and no tune. After tuning you should have no problem smacking mustangs and mostly anything else out there on the road though.

    To answer your question, if u don't get it tuned your not going to only be worried about stangs blowing by u, but also cars like civic si's and scion tc's will keep up with u. A car doesnt run right without a tuned especially a modified V8, i wouldnt even be driving it until tuning.

    Im tuned and i just smoked (without the bottle) a new assuming stock mustang GT (still had paper tag). Im sure he thought he was fast. Just wait till i get the sucker stalled and retuned. Im tuned but have made few minor changes so running slightly rich.

    please get tuned first. as said before you dont want to risk running too lean or rich. however I have the SLP stage 3 kit on my 2001 formula and i have run mach 1's with cams and bolt on's with drag radials and i have taken all of them by at least 3.5-5 lengths. im on street tires and have no cam. plus ive run them down at the track too in dail in races

    damn nice to know all of this..im not working as of now ..so its kinda hard but yea im tune it for sure in the summer ..for now i just wanna buy any lil bolt on im missing before i get it tunedd...i lost to my friends 02 vette ..i had horrrible tires stayd spinning all the way ,plus the tune ..im sure i can beat it ..im going to get a remach ..ill post the vidd
