i think it is the other way around personally...they read lower than they are around the 1/4 tank to prevent people from running out of gas and protecting the fuel pump

I disagree... i can go to work one way and burn up barely 1/8th of a tank on the other side of the gauge. When its at 1/4 tank and I get home, its not long before my check gauges light comes on telling me she's thirsty

My wife has driven it since last fill up. Again short distance 14.3 mpg. If the tires were'nt still good I would think she was flogging the hell out of it. I guess its the short distance. still hard to believe there would be that much of a difference.

that is normal.....the gauges are not linear ....your full to half a tank will last much longer than the 1/2 to empty...on top of that your 1/4 to empty go go extremely fast according to the gauge..as this is to prevent you from running empty or too low that you burn out your pump..if you were brave..you could keep driving it even after the warning light for quite a bit.

Hows the water temp guage been acting. I had the sensor go out on my 98 one time and the first thing it did was to increase fuel because it thought it was extreemly cold outside. It finally got so bad I had it checked on a Tech 2 scanner and it thought it was 30 below outside. We replaced it and the fuel mileage came backup where it should have been. Remember 98s had the same sensors as the 97-98 Vettes. 98 Camaros are the only ones that don't have idiot gauges. What you see is what it is.
