    Mpg?!

    How many miles per tank do you get in your camaro? I fill my tank and it takes about 14.25 gallons to fill up. I get about 16 miles to the gallon, 230 to the tank, in my 2002 SS? How much do you get? I don't know how to post pics on the website but its a black SS with center exhaust, i've done very little mods, a throttle body and a preditor prog. It came with most slp options: exhaust, suspension, grill, and zr-1 rims. I did buy the anniversary rims which i think look great on my car.

    With the stock motor and tires, I averaged 23MPG overall, mostly highway. With the modded LS6 and the 305 [all around] tires, it has dropped significantly to about 18MPG for the same type of driving loop. It's not my DD, so it doesn't bother me. When I do occasinoally take it to work, people inevitably ask me "So, what kind of mileage do you get with that thing?"
    My reply is always the same...... 1 highway 0 city it cracks em up.

    When I used to drive my TA, full exhaust and TR224 cam, on the highway I got up to 28-30 chugging along in 5th and 6th, using 5th for passing. In city stop and go I was still able to acheive 17-19 using 1st 2nd and then coasting in neutral til I had to brake. It's all in how you drive!

    Sadly now demodded :(

    I get 20mpg in the 98 (M6) which is my DD and that's ALL street (very little freeway as I live 2 miles from work). I tend to keep the revs under 2000 rpm (6th gear @ 45 = 1200rpm).

    The 02 (A4), on the other hand, gets ~13mpg but it's modified and has gears so I don't expect good gas mileage. I know it'll get ~27mpg on the hiway @ 70-75 though. But on the street I have a tendency to tromp the loud pedal just to hear the exhaust. That is not conducive to good mpg.

    Okay, is there any tag on the diff. of these cars that'll let me know what kind of ratio is in there?
    -'cuz I'm not getting anywhere near the mileage you guys are...think I got 3.73's.
    I get no more than 16 or 17 MPG, unless I do some heavy freeway driving.

    RPO codes on the driver's door.

    GU2 = Axle Ratio 2.73
    GU4 = Axle Ratio 3.08
    GU5 = Axle Ratio 3.23
    GU6 = Axle Ratio 3.42
