    Sadly now demodded :(

Stock a Z28 with an A4 would have either a 2.73 (with steel ds) or the optional 3.23 (with aluminum ds). All SS's have the 3.23 gears an Al ds. M6 cars will have 3.42's and all V6 cars got 3.08.

That doesn't mean that somebody down the line hasn't changed gears though.

Best ever was 32.4 mpg all interstate from fill up to fill up. Average is around 22.9 since I do mostly in town driving. When I do drive highway I get around 27 mpg. BOY DO I LOVE THE M6.

M6 means 6 speed manual. A4 means automatic 4 speed. Just some short terms for the board.

i do approx 240miles per tank. its my DD for the summer months.

it makes me cry when i stand at the gas station filling up on that high octane fuel. but the tears dry up and i feel all better once i get back inside and feel my seat rumbling... if i wanted fuel economy i'd get myself a honda fit, if i wanted to save the environment i'd ride a bicycle, but i want speed, so i pay the price.

great cars, hell with the gas mileage, you only live once.

I'll never forget back in the 70's when the gas crunch hit for the first time, and I saw a brand new Corvette, had the paper plate and everything. The owner went out and already had a personal license plate frame made up. It read..

    "There's more to life
    than gas mileage"

He was, and still is very much correct.

I get no more than 16 or 17 MPG, unless I do some heavy freeway driving.

I don't understand why we invaded a country full of oil and don't pump some out for ourselves. Flushing this whole country down the drain to build a Disney Land in the desert, seriously. Vote for ezwip in the next election. I'll set things straight. If it's too far to run a pipeline from Iraq I'll bring everyone home and send the 101st over to Venezuela to set up a new government.
