i wanna say i read somewhere that its some kinda animal that eats wild horses (mustangs). not sure how true that is tho.

correct it was in the press conference to kill the panther. it was on chevrolet.com if i remember right in the legend of the camaro section. the conference was because people though that the car to compete with the mustang was gonna be called a panther and instead they name it the camaro which as you said was comrade in french
