    OMG! You seriously don't know????????

It's the original RPO (Regular Production Option) code for the 1st gen 302/4-speed/disc brake equiped race car that was introduced mid-year to compete in the Trans Am racing series. Manufacturers had to make a min 500 examples available for sale to the public. Hence the 602 built in 67MY.

    Other RPO codes: C60 = Air Conditioning; N40 = power Steering; Z22 = Rally Sport; Z27 = SS....

Not a problem. You'll please note that I gave an accurate description of what Z28 stands for.

Several months ago I got into a E-thug arguement with a guy that insisted the Z in Z28 stood for Zora (Zora Arkus Duntov - father of the Corvette) and that he'd gotten this info straight from the F-bod Father (Scott Settlemire). I doubted this greatly and expressed my dismay at his acceptance of this as fact. Even my presenting him with other Z RPO codes (Z22 = Rally Sport, Z87 = deluxe interior, etc) he still refused to accept the truth of the matter. I gave up as there was no way to persuade him (he was early 20's - I was there at the time - who ya gonna believe?).

The emboldened and large character "OMG" was intended as a humorous comment and meant to invoke laughter...

i find it frustrating these days trying to share a little knowledge with someone and have them argue about it with you. if im not sure ill say so, and if im wrong, i learned something. shouldnt be a big deal. good one on the z-28 btw. i found that a lot of people dont know it wasnt actually a model until sometime after the package was introduced. thats a rare one to find: 67 camaro with the z-28 option package thats not a z-28. [that sounds confusing]

Yeah Camaro is French for "Companion"...Just like Corvette is French too. The whole company was created by Louis Chevrolet (Who was French). Too bad it might go bankrupt now!

Well if the party does end I'll be buying several Chevys. I will not buy rice no matter what, made here or not. They only make the crap here because of advantages in money and their goal to put the American Auto makers out of business. I'll buy several and a few key parts for them and drive them till the wheels fall off all of them and fabricate what I have to if necessary!

    1969 thru 1972 350 SS Camaro's were RPO code Z27. Prior to that and for big block cars the SS was delineated by the engine option code (L48 = 350/295hp, L34 = 396/350hp, L35 = 396/325hp, L78 = 396/375hp. L89 = 396/375hp w/Al heads - L34 & L89 n/a for 67).
