"For sale: 1996 SS camaro 96k on body and 41k on LS1 aluminum engine and transmission. 5 miles on Hooker long tube headers...also installed a rear panhandle bar for added handling...car runs and drives ....sounds amazingg Car was a project but with law school I no longer have time or the $$$ to continue to work on it....priced to sell....invested over $6k...email for pictures and more information SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! "
What do you guys think. I am pretty sure it was origionally the LT1 not the LS1.
He wants 3850 for it. Is this a good price. Im fairly sure I can get him to lower it. Ill know more about the car by tomorrow night

Sounds pretty cheap. Motor and tranny could be worth close to that if it's been swapped to an ls1. For the price give it a good lookover.

Give it a really good once over. Cars with transplant drive-trains can be a headache. I would look at the wiring especially. Could be pinched or cut up from the move.

Seems like a good deal. Like someone already said...the LS1/T56 combo is worth nearly that much. Just drive it and make sure everything looks good.

That's cheap for a true SS with an LT1. But apparently he's got the LS1 swap on top of that? Just as been said before, check the wiring, and also the dash-lights... make sure they all illuminate when you initially turn the key to the run position. Not sure of your state, but here in VA, most of 'em check for that. If all that checks out ok, and the car isn't a flood or salvage, I'd snatch it up in a hurry! Make sure you mollywhop the guy for puttin' on a panhandle bar, instead of a panhard bar

If the motor sounds strong and the fluids look good jump all over it... Even if you do not end up liking the car you could make some $ off of it post a few pics when you bring it home

There was a true WS6 96 TA for sale here locally w/ a 304 cam and worked over heads, full exhaust, 6 speed, 90k miles t-top car.... $4k firm. Friend and I went to look at it, car had a slight knock. Guy said he'd never heard it before, but didn't act too surprised when we brought it up I hate it when people try to hide shit, and it sounds too good to be true over the phone... hopefully this SS works out for ya! And if you buy it, I know someone that's lookin' for a clean and top running LT1

Hey finally saw it. I decided not to get it :/ The car needs a lot of work and the wires are all over the place and when he started it up the wires began to smoke. A lot more didn't look too good but I wont go into detail. Still looking for a camaro though
