Makes No Sense!

So. My sisters have a 1998 3.8 camaro...it has 101,000 miles on it i think, and absolutely no mods. I have a 2000 3.8 camaro, 63,000 miles...with slp cold air, whisper lid, and flowmaster 80 series catback...

Took my sisters car out today, just playin around. And decided to see if it would chirp the tires from a dig, seeing how mine wont. Long story short, it down right spun em to the point i had to let off because of the smoke. Now im wondering why mine wont...Tires are in same condition and all. Not to mention their car seems faster....Anybody give me a reasonable explanation?

Mine does have a slight miss, and idles rough...in the process of replacing plug wires...and if that doesnt work ill clean the injectors, you all think that will do it?

have you checked the gear ratio in your sister's rear-end. possibly her car might be geared lower.

it's ok man...
it probably has to do with the rear diff.

my first bird was an auto and would leave about 30 foot burnouts(1 tire!)
and my new dd bird won't even chirp the tires...

plus every car is different

what inch rim and tire do yall have? are they the same? i have factory 16 inch
wheels and my boyfriend has 18 inch wheels and i can spin for days and he cant because of his being bigger; but yeah, it might have something to do with changing the sparkplugs and the sparkplug wires..... but im not a mechanic by no means lol

haha it just pisses me off...but ive got some work to do to get my car running right...all three of my o2s are bad, plug wires and plugs, and maybe cleaning the injectors...i didnt know they put different rear ends in the same kind of cars.

Ima take both of them to the strip before long and find out...if it was an eighth mile track, and they had a high rear end...would i get them by the end?

man...idk I'd look into those o2's and ur cats...

shouldn't need plugs and wires yet, if it only has 63k

You have dogged your car and over time it has lost power-she never gets on hers therefore its like a fresh engine.

Yeah and when I was 17 I blew up my v6 camaro 2 times in way under a year-granted it was a 2.8 but still. Are you saying you dont drive the shit out of your car at age 17? However I doubt thats the reason unless its smoking like hell LOL.

Change your fuel filter,check or change plugs/wires(could be a plug issue even at 60,xxx miles), take O2's out and clean the carbon off them carefully.

ha, well i didnt deny it...but its still in good shape. I appreciate the help. Oh, i took my dad out in my sisters car this morning, and lit em up...so now hes pissed about it too hahaha.

Just went out and checked the rearend...theres has a 3.08 and mine a 3.45?

wow, now im really beginning to wonder. Ima go get the injectors cleaned and see if that does it.

if her rear is different, then she could also have different ratio in her tranny as well. lol

Face it dude- you hubbed your car out by dogging it too much. O well. To find out about the car write down all the codes on the drivers side door . It will tell you everything.
