an STi is gonna fuck u over on the launch. Iv raced a few and its been the same result. This one kid knew how to fucking shift and put nearly 2 cars on me right at the launch. Them AWD turbos are good from a dig but after round 50/60 ur gonna catch him pretty good. In a 1/4 race id say drivers race with an edge to the LS1. Anymore than 1/4 ur gonna get him.

Like they said above, if both cars are bone stock, it will be a driver's race. Don't be discouraged when he jumps out in front off of the line....you should have the power up top to run him down in a quarter mile.

I raced both the sti and the wrx. I spanked the wrx. the sti jumped really good on me, but when I hit that second gear I pulled up to him and early 3rd gear I pulled a car on. short race. I really want to race another one.

My friend that used to own my car (2000 Camaro SS), ran a STI and on another occasion an SRT-4. Camaro was stock and so where the other to, actually I think that they may of had an aftermarket blow off, but anyways. He dusted them both... from a dead stop and on the interstate. Again I remind eveyone not to challenge the SS on the interstate unless you really have something fast.

i hate to burst youre bubble, but an SS stock on the highway isnt the fastest thing out there.

for a 1/4 race, its a toss up between the sti and ls1.

I know the AWD works great with the turbos, but on underpowered cars it just makes them slower. but those STI's really are rice ROCKETS off the line. dang. I saw a little asian guy driving one and he had the whole interior gutted and it was all raced out, it looked kinda goofy but it was probably damn fast.

    4 cylinder+turbo+awd +launch
347 ci+keep your foot down+you catch him by second gear
but if he has aftermarket turbos then just write this one off for now (if you're stock like me)

Only two 4 bangers have ever given me any trouble....SRT4 and WRX STI. Hard off the line but they dont stand a chance after second gear. Jerry01ss knows!! We've wasted a few.

I had some trouble with a integra with a turbo would have killed him from a 20 punch but he wanted to race on the highway. Still beat him but not by much. Integra had around 300hp with a bad ass tune.

Check out Motor Trend's last comparison where an STI pulled a 13.0 @103.5 against the EVO MR. Most I've seen run around 13.3 average. That's quick enough to give a 6-speed LS1 a run for the money in the 1/4 and will most likely beat an auto.

Stock from a roll at higher speeds the STi will get pulled.

ya, its hard to get an all wheel drive turbo car off the line!!! cause the sti's can set the power to the wheels at 40/50, 50/50, 60/40 percent wise on how much power the front and rear wheels get... its bad ass really
