Ls1 to ls2
HI THERE GUYS HAVE A QUICK QUESTION my mechanic has his ls2 gto engine with fast 92mm intake, ported heads, custom cam, chromoly pushrods, upgraded springs and rockers, apparently his gto made 456 to the wheel, he says he can install it for 5000 with everything and i keep my engine! i was thinking about doing heads and cam on my car which would be around 3000. do you guys think i am getting a good deal or am i getting shafted? also what do ls1 engines go for if i plan on selling it

That is very cheap, you could sell your ls1 for 2,000-3,000 and make most of the money back and have a better engine than you did stock.

..I would be wondering why he's selling this motor..was it in a wreck..did you see his GTO in action..if not i'd want to see the proof..sounds like a good deal since you get to keep your old mill..does this engine come complete with harnesss, computer..since those goodies can add up..good luck

you would have to change out the reluctor wheel... ls1 ecm is for 24 tooth and an ls2 is a 48 tooth...
