How the engine is treated and luck of the draw.

As with any car, old, retired folk who never go above the speed limit have had the engine blow on themat 40k - and some dudes who hit the track every weekend have gone over 200k without even needing to change the plugs.

Get the best deal you can, and enjoy the car. You'll get your money's worth out of an LS1.

Good Oil, good top tier gasoline, proper cleaning of all fluids

157k. Cleaner that a lot of 60k cars.

I read it and (if you noticed) I provided an answer in both miles and kilometers. The op also stated miles or kms. It's an easy conversion. You should stop dissing folks and learn how yourself.

130,000 miles and runs mid 10's. Nothing has been touched on the rotating assembly.

LS1 is a stout engine that will last very long if taken care of. Mine is at 150,000 miles which is 241,000 kilometers, still running strong

my 2000 has 150k miles on it. The previous owner was a piss poor driver, and I suspect her boyfriend had his foot through it a few times, I bought it at 88k. Replaced the entire clutch system shortly after I got it...... Fuel pump at 100k, water pump starting seeping at 112k so I went ahead and replaced it, headers at ~130k got rid of the bad cats, throttle cable at 140k, alternator at 148.5k, and I'm predicting power steering pump somewhere around 155k or so.

But the engine still runs VERY strong , it's just the accessories that keep going to sh!t on me

While my 98 has eleventy billion miles on it, my 2002 has only 44,xxx miles on the odometer. Except for the things I've replaced/rebuilt for "speed" (exhaust/tranny/rearend) the only thing that has actually went "bad" was the water pump.

There isn't one that I know of unless you drive through 3 feet of water And thats probably something we should all avoid anyway regardless of mods done.

Correct. Ive done all of the free mods and Ive had to drive in some pretty awesome rain/puddles and Ive had no issues. Just dont drive 25 through it. Idle through it if you have to.

It's one of the lid mods at installuniversity. A couple people had cut off parts then driven through pools of water when the street flooded and got hydro locked. There was another thread on here at one point where they blamed that mod. You're probably right that it had nothing to do with the mod the cars not a submarine. I surely would go around the pool.

Pretty sure this was the one.
