thx for the replys but i believe its yet to be seen one hit 300000 and still run strong and not need a rebuild.ive had several 5.0stangs with mileage all over the place and never blew one up.250hp shot of no2 on a stock motor with 270km and went 11.20@123.im an avid car guy and also own several mopars and i like the LS1engine but am concerned about its longevity.thx again nick

i appreicate the info guys.....i love the LS1 and am in the process of buying one.just asking questions b4 i make up my mind.and i understand they are still relitively new so there hasnt been too many ive seen with high milage.also i dont mean to sound like a smartass ....if it wasnt for this board who else would i ask.btw the 3 that i have in mind are all standard Zers 2 are2000 and the other is an 02.1has 55k,the other 97k,and the 02 64k.just would be real upset if i had to get into the motor right away.i take care of my cars but also like to run em hard....

Now. . .Not sure if several of you noticed we're talking BOTH kilometers and miles here. . .I'm sure the US guys are talking miles and Azzkikr is talking km. . . something to think about here. . .
btw, I just passed 90300 miles on my car and both dyno'd and made 7 1/4 mile passes in the past 2 weeks. . .LS1. . .NO SMOKE or issues! Pretty stout and consistant!
(90,300 miles = 145292.7 kilometers)
hope this helps!

Currently own 1995 Z28 (Silver-Automatic) - BONE STOCK!!!
Recently purchased 2001 Z28 (Black-6 Speed) - 3" Flowmasters and
other misc stuff. This, bad traction (2.21 60') and missed 3-4 shift
netted me 13.46 sec in the 1/4 mile. . .

i have 57,000 miles on my '00 Z28 A4 and have owned it for the past year. Since I've owned it the alternator needed replacement, rotors, power steering fluid has mysteriously disappeared as well as engine coolant. No apparent leaks so it may be a VERY small internal leak. The previous owner took well care of it and had the car checked every month and had the tranny serviced about 5 times when it had 20-30k miles so it was taken VERY good care before I bought it. When you look at it, its just minor shit that needs to be replaced. My friend with an 01 SS beats the living hell outta his car like I've never seen b4 and hes mainly only seen power steering issues.

Ls1 mileage
98 formula with 146,000 miles, knock on wood still sounds and runs strong. Now I've had trans issues in both a-4 ls1 cars ive owned so that's another story. Currenlty i have 1st gear, second gear and no 3rd gear, i do have reverse.

89k mostly highway miles on my 02. Catalytic converters go out every 1.5 miles, which has nothing to do with your question. Runs like a dream.
