An electric cutout would be the cheapest and easiest route.

It essentially allows you to run an open exhaust at will. With an electric cutout, a solenoid opens and closes and is usually installed right after the y-pipe.

Most install one right after the y-pipe. And it would be pretty close to running open headers. If you check on youtube, you can find quite a few soundclips.

Most people leave their exhaust as is, that way they can have it quieter when they want, and louder when they want. Check out KYSpeed - http://kyspeed.com/index.php?main_pa...d020001eb5e371

I've got a quiet idle with LT headers and a Loudmouth, both when I had an ORY and even my catted ORY now. Seems like Cams are the solution to a loud idle, along with a bunch of confusion if you don't know engine internals.

    This.

A cam will open up your exhaust duration and increase flow. This will give you the louder tone you seek. I assume you want the V8 rumble?
