Looking for a part for my maro... Appearently discontinued
My local dealer says these parts have been discontinued... They are a "window" adjuster, or support. There are two per window, they are on top of the door, and have some felt that rub the window and keep it from rattling back and forth. They are a crappy, weak design, and both of mine were broken and in the bottom of my door. I found this out when I changed the window motor. Thanks. John

Maybe the junkyard. Or see if the part off another model could be altered to fit.

Here I go all technical now...
Technically "advertising" something for sale is only allowed if you're a sponsor. If you were to post in the "for sale" section, which you meet the criteria to do so, that would be A-OK. I'm pretty sure none of our sponsors even offer anything like this, but still, in the technical world of LS1.com's rule book... I'd have to say keep it in the for sale section.

Not to be to technical myself, but I don't have anything to sell now and don't want to advertise that I do. I need to get some people to jump on and say they are interested before I waste any money to tool these parts up. Can some people express their interest in this post, or is that a no no? Thanks. John

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
As long as this stays a technical discussion, its fine. Any further posts about making these to sell, and it goes bye bye.

I was looking for these and found new ones on ebay. I can't remember what the part is called.

Just found it. They're called window stabilizers. #9 below.
GMpartsdirect still has them.

Yep I've replaced those before, and they are on ebay as jiveass says.
They break 99% of the time (from what I've seen) from people using the window to grab and pull or push the door shut when they get out.
The window is not a door handle, and these pieces weren't designed for that type of use.
Replace them, and use the actual door to pull/push it shut and they will last you a lifetime

I had this problem on my T/A a few years ago. If you are not lucky enough to find some in a junkyard, you can modify ones from a 3rd Gen car. That's what I did, they are not exactly the same so you'll have to get creative but the end result is all the same

I had this problem a few years ago on my driver's side door. I simply cut some strips from the felt lining on the insdie of an eye-glass case and glued them to the metal window stabalizers. The biggest problem is trying to get these stabilizers adjusted just right so that these "monster" windows don't bind during operation.

Um, I thought companies had to have spare parts on hand for 10 years past the model year? If so its 2011 and the Camaro (though yours is a 1998) was still made in 01 and 02. Ask them for the 01 or 02 part.....lol Perhaps its changed designation. hah Seriously, I would ask that.
