Letting the Gf drive the camaro?
So my Girlfriend is moody because I laughed when she asked if she could drive my Z28. So, how many of you guys let your Gf drive your car?

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Never! If she wants to drive a high performance car then she can buy one for herself.

In a parking lot with no light poles....sure. Otherwise, you're playing with fire.

When I first got my car my GF asked if she could drive it. I asked " you know how to drive stick?" she said "yeah! isnt it that thing with D and R? I just shook my head.

I let my girlfriend drive it around the neighborhood with some ground rules. No giving the car any hard acceleration, no grinding my gears, can't take it over 35mph.

Silver- 2003 GTI 1.8T :(
as long as im in the car and its in a parking lot... oh and put a 2x4 behind the accelerator so they can only go like 1/4 throttle.. but that goes for anybody not just a gf... i have let a very close girl of a friend drive my car but only across town because i was way too drunk to drive

my gf asked me once to drive my third gen. the way I looked at her must be really scary... she never asked again...
Well probably on a parking lot with no other cars and poles around I'd let drive her.

Maybe a girlfriend is different,,,I don't know,,it's been a long time since I had a girlfriend,,,,,but my wife has one of her own she drives everyday to work,,,and it's a 6 speed,,,lol.
She even drives the Chevelle once in a while with over 600 HP on tap,,,shucks she even drives a 454 vette in the summer most days. She loves this kind of stuff. I trust she is carefull enough. When you get them involved in restorations and the amount of money it takes to do a car right,,,,they start to realize and are more likely to treat it as such.

I never let mine, I did the laugh also! It's not a thing against girls however, the only person who ever drove my car was my friend, and I was driving his C5 at the same time, fair trade. It's not even about trust with me, mistakes happen, I don't want anyone else to be responsible for my car. For all you know, someone else could hit them. Even if that happened, I'd still dump her for being in the drivers seat and getting hit.
