Latest Road & Track
Does anyone else find it funny that in the latest R&T they test Hennessey's, SLP's and LPE's blown Camaro's and not a single one of them can crack 11's. Hennessey claimes 700+ crank HP/torque. I know 30 series 20" tires aren't great for drag racing but still. SLP's version was in bolt on 4th gen with a stall territory. Lame.

I might get tared and feathered for this but I am not a fan of the 5th gens. Just think that they are to big looking and the styling isn't my favorite either. With the seven years GM had to design them I was not impressed.

700hp+ street suspension setup and tires= no traction. The hennesey 650hpe has trapped mid 120s with no traction. Thats a 10 second car if setup to hook.

Exactly. People need to pay more attention to trap speeds, as that is a better indicator of HP.
Just because the car can't get out of the 12's is simply a result of 60 foot times. It has no real bearing on the potential of the car. It just shows the tires and suspension are not there to support the power it's making.
Mid 120's trap speed is an easy 10 second ride.

I don't think the price is bad just think that GM could have done a better job on the styling. That's just my opinion though.

It's more of the "pro touring" type of car. Which aren't setup to hook in a straight line. Seems to be the theme nowadays for some reason.
Besides with IRS and goofy ass wheels you can't expect much in that department.
If you want to buy something that hooks right off the bat, look at Fords Cobra Jet drag package, or Chryslers Charger drag package.
