I have a spare LS1, and wondering what i should do
I have a 2001 Z28 with >50k miles. I'm have a spare, used LS1 shortblock and an LQ9 Block (only) in my garage, and i really want to build an engine that can handle a big shot of nitrous, that has fair street manners. This spare engine currently has 853 heads, and is completely stock. I am looking to make 650+ on spray. I have lots of time; but would rather spend money one month at a time. I just need a little direction in what i need to do to get and/or who i need to build it. I live in Dallas.

I would sell the ls1 short block and 853 heads and buy a 402 or 408 rotating assembly for the lq9 block. Then save up for some heads and the cam you want. After you have your built long block together I would pull the current ls1 you have in your car and sell it. That should be enough for your to get an intake manifold, fuel system and little odds and ends taken care of such as labor if you need some and a tuning. After the engine is in the car and its running great save up some cash for a nice 200 shot.
