I have hp tuners but no wideband sensor yet. so all Ive done is tune out the rear o2s, skip shift, and took a couple scans. from what I've seen a wideband is about 200-300. so I was just thinking if I could get a good tune done on a dyno for 150 I could just save that tune like i did with it stock, wait a bit and get a wide band later. at some point I'd like to dig a little deeper into the tuning. taking VERY small steps of course.
Well the reason i did mine was because the stall needed tuning. I knew my car was running really lean and just not running smooth overall. The shifts were sluggish too. They are firmed up now and it runs 10x better. So i can't really tell you how much you need a tune, but i'd personally wait for some bigger mods. If i was in your situation and i knew i was getting a cam or heads, or nitrous. Then i'd wait.

If you think it stinks, hell i know mine does. I have a y-pipe and if you do too, it's pretty much normal, but you make the call if you want a tune or not.

thx, do higher gears help or hurt hp?

i finally beat one of my friends tonight...he basically has the same mods as me plus an open Y, 3.73s and a BIG passenger. the passenger is what hurt him. i got him by a fender

2.73s aren't as bad as everyone says i guess, but maybe i could do better without em

No difference. You are measuring the rear wheels for turning force [torque] and ability to accelerate against a load over time [HP]. Dyno doesn't care if it's a squirrel running in a cage or a steam engine. It must know accurate vehicle weight [free scales at the drag strip]. It can factor for weather conditions.
