But, he's a Mopar guy who thinks the LEs are gaudy. He was trying to get me to buy a 2002 Z28 convertible with 67000 miles on it for $17K instead. But, I like this car about 10x more.
For $1k more you got a lot better car. Think about it, there's a reason he wanted you to buy the Z28 instead....

I get heads turning everywhere I take the LE. At the Chevy dealer on Saturday to do some work, everyone in the garage came out to check it out when it was being checked in by the service writer....

I think your buddy was scared your SS would smoke almost any dodge lol. $1000 less for a z28, granted a vert, with more miles on it excluding SLP options would not have been a better deal in my opinion. I don't think you got a bad deal. Maybe it's not the steal of the year, but I see them going for that around here too.

I just think he's afraid that my LE Camaro is going to be more of an attention getter than his 1970 Challenger...like my '69 Camaro already is.

That, and my daily driver will be as fast (if not faster) than is Challenger (which is a pretty fast car...nothing really to bad mouth about his car).

Well, the thing is...is I love cars and one of my life long hobbies is going to be working on my little car collection. I'm going to dental school so I should be able to fund that hobby.

I already have a little list of cars I want to one day have, this car is one of them (a convertible Z isn't). The convertible would be fun...but this car is too and its a life long purchase which the 'vert isn't. The convertible is a dealer car and is in slightly better shape...but its not exactly what I wanted. The LE is and thats why I bought it.

Plus, this is a car (like my '69) that I have wanted since I first saw a picture of it and I plan on never letting it go.
that's not bad. my uncle bought his new fully loaded and paid I think it was 42000 for it. he wrecked his at 165 though. so I guess you can change the number of them out there because of it.

I have a buddy that has a collection worth over $10million and he said the 2002 LE is the one to have....

Regardless if mine is worth $25k or not, I wouldn't sell it for less than that, so you got a deal in my opinion.

It's one of the special ones. It looks just like this: http://35thle.com/images/edg35ssle/PA160001800.jpg

Oh, and I found out what number it is. I am the proud owner of LE #222.

Looks just like mine with the aftermarket SLP matching grille.

I'm thinking I might go back to the stock grill because I just don't care for any of the front license plate options for the SLP grill. Plus, I like the car both ways. Oregon is pretty strict about a front plate so I don't want to run the risk since this is going to be my daily driver.

Do you know if the grills are hard to change?

No, not that hard. Did you get the old one? I didn't. Somebody can scan the directions to putting on the SLP one so you will know how to take it off. I like things stock looking, but I love the grille and I'm glad mine came this way.

We don't have a front plate law luckily.

Yeah, if I could get the SLP installation instructions from someone...that would be awesome.
