    on another note. i dont even allow people to eat in my car, hate crumbs. no coffee either, hit one bump and get a big stain...

    so in my car i drive, if i want to eat i pull into a place and grab a bite. only essentials like water and vodka, and other non-staining liquids are the only things that can be consumed in my car.

    LMAO do you have something against rum? Its clear...

    My car was heavily smoked in before I bought it used. Took 8 months, and a lot of steam cleaning, scrubbing, and riding with the top down to lose the smell.

    Course, I let my kids ride in it, which is much more harmful to the car

    do u have the leather interior? my car is currently heavily smoked in... for a few months straight now, and all i have is one lil air freshener hangin from the rearview mirror... NOBODY smells cigarettes whatsoever, and usually compliment how good it smells lol.
    if my car started to smell like smoke, id never let anyone smoke in there, but... it doesnt stick well to the leather

    The great thing about life is to learn from mistakes. I had my first car when i was 16/17. you know all your dumb friends that dont have cars always pressure you to do something, like smoke in the car...(cig holes in the cloth seats suck), get mcdonalds and slop big mac crap in the carpet(could not figure out what the smell was from for weeks), taking the nephews for ice cream...you can figure that one out, and finally your bud asking to borrow the car for a date...first and last time that ever happened. genetic material in the back seat and the dude got a wreckles driving ticket racing a mustang...he won so we still talk-20 years later!

    When I smoked, I smoked in the car, but used Ice Blue or something to offset the smell. I haven't smoked for awhile & not in my current Camaro. Could you imagine paying for gas & smokes? OMG! lol

    When I used to smoke I would smoke in the car but only with the windows open and never used the ash tray. I detail my interior when I do the car, my wife hates cig smoke and she would have no idea I had in my car.

    rum is ok, nothing against rum. but you have to remember that back in the day my great grandparents immigrated from poland, so you'll have to excuse my bias towards vodka.

    Yea...it's my DD...after dropping 12 large for the LS6 and mods and such, I really don't care to put the kind of mileage on it that my commute would enforce. So when I went shopping for a DD, my requirements were; It MUST be REAR wheel drive, have a 5 or 6 (mine has a 6)
    speed manual, have fully independant suspension, and get 32+ MPG. The list gets pretty short. I'm sure there are some Euro cars out there that fill the bill, but I found this 2002 Miata that had only 10,000 original miles on it online, it's black, so it fits right in with the rest of the "fleet", and the rest is history. Laugh if ya want, it's okay, but it's actually a fun car to drive believe it or not. It can't get out of it's own way, but I'm averaging 34MPG. The fact that it's a drop top doesn't hurt either.
    I like my American BEEF..but I also must eat the side dish of rice during the week, I know I'm not alone out there. I want to preserve my prized ride.

    <end rant>

    You are not alone, I've been riding my Yamaha motorcyle everyday (weather permiting) to try and save some $ on gas. I put gas in my F150 crew cab 4x4 yesterday and the pump stopped at $100....and it wasn't full yet!!!! I put $15 in the bike and I can commute to work for at least a week. Gotta do what we can....
